Motivation/Goal Setting Tips

Many people fail to achieve their goals in losing weight not because of an ineffective approach but because they do not know how to stay motivated or focused and they lose track and stop doing what they need to do in order to achieve the results they really want. There are many factors that separate those that follow through on a consistent basis and get the results they want from those that do not and fail. Even if you have tried many weight loss approaches do not lose hope since the next approach you try can make the difference in helping you to get the body you want.

Set Goals:

Goal setting is one of the important factors that those that achieve a lot have in common. It helps to keep you focused on what you want to accomplish instead of what you fear might happen. It is easy to set goals, all you need to do is decide how many pounds of weight you want to lose each month and then write it down somewhere. Also it is important to set a target that is reasonable and that you honestly believe you can accomplish so something like losing 5 to 10 pounds a month until you hit your target weight is fair and attainable.

If you find that the end of the month is coming close and you are not going to hit your goals then do not give up but rather sit down and reset your goals. Also try to troubleshoot and figure out why you are not achieving the results you want. Maybe you need to change a few things regarding your diet or regarding your exercise habits. Quitters never win and winners never quit and you know this to be a fact.

Learn To Monitor Your Thoughts:

Thoughts are the root to all actions and actions determine what results we get in our life. Many people think that thoughts are just random and we cannot control them. Yes, many thoughts you have are triggered by the environment you are in however you have a lot of control over what kind of environment you choose to surround yourself with in terms of friends and such. If most of your friends are constantly looking down on you and telling you that you cannot lose weight or that you are a failure then maybe it is time to find a new set of friends that are more supportive of your goals to be healthier.
