There are tons of diet and exercise books available that it can make your head spin in terms of figuring out what will work for you. Even the information you fine for free online can be overwhelming. Extra tummy fat is not only unattractive, it increases some serious health risks such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and more.

It is essential for overall good health to burn off the fat. Below I will share my own methods I practice from the research I've done myself. I'm all about simplicity and saving time. I am also about keeping things fun, otherwise I will give up out of frustration. Before you start any new form of exercise or dieting, it is recommended to get a check-up with your doctor. You should also get your starting weight, body measurements, and other vital information that you can track with time.

Simple Method #1: As you may already know, how we eat will make or break our weight loss plan. A lot of people don't like diets. Most are hard to follow or too restrictive. This is why I focus on keeping food simple. I learned which foods keep me fat and I do my best to cut back or avoid them all together. Here is the list of foods you should consider cutting back on: bread, pasta, cereal, rice, baked goods, refined sugar, and processed foods.

You may be wondering what is there left to eat? First understand that the list above are essentially simple carbs. They are foods often eaten in excess. When they are not burned, guess what? They are stored as fat. A better way of eating is keeping food simple and nutritious. Here is a better list:

  • lean meat
  • seafood
  • fresh vegetables
  • fresh fruit
  • nuts
  • seeds
  • good fats
  • water
Eat well 80% to 90% of the time and you will make burning tummy fat so much easier.

Simple Method #2: Learn how to exercise in order to burn fat. Any exercise is better than none at all but there are also certain ones that are more effective at burning fat. The type of exercise I like is fun, intense, and short. Calisthenics and intervals are my two favorite routines that I combine for short, yet effective fat burning workouts. Here are the benefits:

  • Uses your body weight
  • You can incorporate free-weights (dumbbells)
  • Short workouts (30 to 45 minutes)
  • Workout anywhere: home, gym, outdoors
