Cardio Exercise
Cardiovascular exercise or aerobics as it is also known as is important in many ways to help you attain better health and to help you lose weight. The key with aerobic exercise is that you maintain a decent level of intensity that keeps your heart rate at an average of 130 beats per minute for a period of 30 to 45 minutes each session. Most people either do to little aerobic exercise or too much and end up getting poor results.
Train the proper amount:
It is important to do enough aerobic exercise and not too little or too much. The right amount is usually 3 to 4 sessions a week where each session is around thirty to forty minutes. It is also important to maintain a good intensity per workout where your heart rate is in the 130 - 140 beats per minute range. A fast paced walk outside or on a treadmill can usually accomplish this level of intensity quite easily.
It is always a good idea even if you have a gym membership to have some type of aerobic exercise equipment in your home since many times you will find yourself really short on time or the weather outside may be really bad and in this case you can avoid missing a workout by training in the comfort of your own home.
If you find yourself sweating toward the end or even in the middle of your workouts then you know you are putting in a good level of intensity however you should not feel any major pain. If you do feel significant discomfort then stop and consult a doctor about the problem. Perhaps the best form of cardio is a fast paced walk as it is not too harsh on your joints whereas jogging or running can cause a lot of joint problems for you in the future.
